On Palestine#

Noam Chomsky, Ilan Pappe, Frank Barat (2015)
Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)

I first attempted this book years ago while exploring Chomsky’s broader work. It’s not the best introduction to the history of the Israel/Palestine conflict — it assumes a reader already understands the major events and political stakes. But as a look into the discourse surrounding the anti-colonialist movement, it succeeds.

The book begins with the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement, particularly its rise on university campuses. From there, it critiques the Two-State Solution and explores different protest strategies. More dialogue than traditional narrative, it offers insight into the intellectual and activist frameworks shaping the movement.

For readers seeking an entry point into the movement — not the history — this is a worthwhile read.
